  • Hello, Arizona! Today I visited Chiracahua National Monument; the red rock formations are truly spectacular. After the recent snow, every leaf and twig on the higher sections of the trails were covered in thick, fluffy frost, like a high desert cupcake. Mmmmm, cupcakes

Spring/summer trips are booked, kicking it off with a non-camping visit to Arizona. Here’s hoping all the bad mojo from 2024 - the killer storms, injuries, wildfires and excessive heat - are in the rear view mirror. Hoorah!
Adventure is on the horizon! Three short trips are planned - Arizona, North Carolina and Kentucky - followed by a two month summer meander thru my beloved western mountains!

I see you are in Maryland. I just joined OB. I’m in Maryland too. Wondering… do you overland by yourself or in a group? I joined OB to try to find fellow overlanders who would like to connect and overland together because I don’t want to go solo.

Mostly solo, as I do longer trips out west and into Canada. But I’m happy to meet up with the local overlanding community as my schedule allows!

It seems like you have a lot of experience overlanding. I started overlanding a few years ago. My longest trip so far was 4 days. I recently retired though and would like to take longer trips. I would enjoy meeting you. I am in Ellicott City.

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
    Home again!
    Miles driven: 11,468
    U.S. National Parks: 5
    Canadian National Parks: 3
Highlights: Secret alpine lakes, wildlife (bison, moose, bears, eagles & more), crazy rock scrambles, one sprained ankle and a nearly fatal windstorm. Sometimes the unexpected challenges are the adventure.
