That rout will take 3 to 4 days to complete and stock friendly. Plenty of camp sites and fuel stops along the way.

How's the camping situation working out? Do we need to make reservations or just show up?

I have done about 350 miles of that, mostly on the western track.

If I were making that trip I would plan my route down through the GWNF and pick up Skyline Dr in VA. Plenty of free tent camping in GWNF and nice forrest service roads.

Count me in. I will most likely head down early, 1PM or so, to avoid traffic.

He is coming form Clinton or Waldorf area in MD, just south of DC.
