My wife and I are building out the JKU ourselves. From the installation of all parts and components, building a custom roof top tent platform, custom galley cabinet, dual battery box, etc.. My experience in the outdoors goes back 20 years from adventure racing, kayak and mountain bike racing ,sport car racing, and for the last 6 years bike touring and bike packing. Off-road travel is new to us (definitely rookies but willing and anxious to learn from you all). Hopefully, the outdoor experience and common sense will get us through our planned 6 week adventure safely. We are taking an off-road driving and recovery course, plan to practice all summer learning our rig, gear, different terrain, and additional survival skills. We plan to travel alone but hopefully meet up with some of you.
