I’m going excited about it after missing last year. I went in 2019 but wasn’t able to stay more than Friday afternoon and sat long enough to pack and leave. This year I’ll be checking in Friday morning!
This past weekend I found a 3rd gen 4Runner at a local junkyard pulled it off and trimmed it down about an 1inch in width to make it fit the roof of my 2nd gen.
Not the most high $$ roof rack but it’s plenty strong for what I need at this point and functional.
Here’s the before and after...
I’ve got patches from companies, places, funny things I like, and military unit patches from my time in service. It’s your collection make it yours by doing it how you want. Another way to look at it (pun intended) is No one will see it/ look at it more than you so make sure you like it.
Haven’t been around here for awhile and had to put the 4Runner project on the back burner till recently. But I’m happy to report it’s up and running! Still have a long list of things I need to do to keep it reliable but that’s half the fun with this rig.
I’m finally going to get around to building and posting on the resurrection and overland build of my 95 4Runner.
History: I’ve had this truck for about 4.5 years now. I had to have the engine rebuilt almost immediately to get it on the road and it was a great truck from then on. 2 years...
I like this setup! I don't have nearly the same space in my daily driven Subaru that I had in my 95 4runner so I've been playing with options and thinking of just getting a handheld but this is a serious consideration.
@Paris0514 I like how you explained this because you outline that its multiple ways to accomplish the task. Too often I hear folks talk about this in a literal sense and it isn't always practical. For example, a spare tire is the preferred method of flat repair but not many rigs have the space...
I really like your suggestion of using e-shopping/ curbside pick up as that eliminates one of the biggest hurdles in traveling with a pet due to food preparation laws and policies.
Great idea and something that could be added to the boot camp series. In the spirit of this I’d say that the fluid checks should individuality list each one. I’m confident in my wife checking them if I smashed but she wouldn’t be able to list them off the top of her head because the vehicle...
Personal preference and situations, like many things in life everyone has their own preferences. I've seen cars off-roaded in harsh climents in third world countries doing things off-road that would be considered recreation here. I've also seen people with "built" Jeeps that will never leave...
I'm on call that day but if it's slow I might be able to make it. I'm pretty new here and have a pretty unconventional rig that's a work in progress but I love adventure and like hanging out with like-minded people.
