Rally Point Details:
Friday - Sunday trip to Lake Kookanusa. The hope is to find a spot where we can all camp along the shores of Lake Kookanusa. I'll be scouting this route in early April to see if beach camping is possible. For those unfamiliar with the area, this spot is located a short distance from Eureka, Montana.
The plan is to leave Friday morning (10AM PST) and camp two nights on the shores of Lake Kookanusa. There's plenty to explore in the area, so you can pick your adventure on Saturday or hang out at camp. We will head back on Sunday morning after breakfast.
Required gear/equipment
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist others!!!
- GMRS radio or HAM able to communicate on GMRS frequencies
- Solid recovery points front and rear
- Navigation device with offline maps downloaded and route imported (I can help you if you need)
- Clothes/gear for all weather (especially snow, rain, mud)
- Full size spare
- Fire wood (everyone bring 1 bundle)
Recommended
- Recovery straps (kinetic rope)
- Shovel
- Traction aids (recovery boards)
- Heater
- Ability to air down AND up
- Tire repair kit
Dress warm. While the weather could be nice during the day, temps will definitely drop at night, especially near the water.
The trip route will be uploaded closer to the departure once I've confirmed that the full route is passable.
