Rally Point Details:
We are going to drive to the Sundance mountain overlook just south of Priest Lake on Saturday the 4th (I know, last minute!) We will meet at the Maverick station off West Point Parkway (Stateline near the Walmart or Cabela's) at 8:45am and leaving at 9:00am. We will drive north to Newport, then Priest River, and then take highway 57 to Dickensheet road and take White Trail Butte to the trailhead. The trail starts at 48.42832, -116.83575, and climbs to the lookout at 6,247 feet. The trail is rated a "2" in OnX and is described as "Sheep Grade". It has awesome views of Priest Lake and the surrounding mountains. Be prepared to air down/air up for this trip. In the event that the way is blocked or otherwise inaccessible, we will default to the Stone Johnny trail closer to Pries River (48.24494, -116.91184) which has great territorial views and is a bit lower in elevation.
