Rally Point Details:
We’ll be head up highway 4 and tackling Bailey Ridge & Corral Hollow! We’ll be camping out in a meadow next to the historic 2-story Bear Trap Cabin. The elevation is between 7000 - 8000 ft, so expect this trip to be wet with snow / mud and expect it to be cold outside! Bailey Ridge features a rocky climb / rocky descent with a few smoother sections along the way with a handful of amazing views of the Sierras. Corral Hollow climbs high up through large meadows and high ridges with awesome views of Bear Valley and the Mokelumne Wilderness. This should be an epic winter adventure!
Currently, there's about 2 inches of snow up in this area. Depending on the weather, there could be less or there could be more. I'll be keeping an eye on the forecast daily for any updates on the weather / snow fall.
*These trails are fairly easy but the snow / muddy conditions will can make these trails more challenging.*
-- This a 1 night / 2 day trip
-- We'll be meeting at Bass Pro Shop in San Jose at 6:00AM, 37.25814, -121.87180
-- Wheels up will be at 6:15AM sharp!
-- I'll be sending out more details on the trip a week before the trip to those of you who are RSVP.
-- Our main comms will be GMRS 15, we will have HAM as well
-- Extra fuel & traction boards & chainsaws & amber lights are highly recommended for this trip.
