The Maze District - New Moon weekend!

Planning a 6 day trip to The Maze District in Canyonlands National Park. This is a very remote section of the park where they recommend not relying on GPS, bring a map. We're planning to be there for the new moon in June which is on June 17. There is a maximum of 3 vehicles per camp site and we have 2 camp sites near each other each night while in the national park. TRIP IS NOW FULL WITH A WAITLIST.

Rally Point Details:

We want to have a maximum of 6 rigs. Currently it is myself and three others confirmed, they aren't part of OB which is why the max rigs is listed as 3. As others join who do not have OB accounts, I'll decrease the max limit here until we reach our 6 max. We might need to be flexible as the camp sites are by permit only and that opens up on February 10 for this section of the park to be reserved in June. We're hoping to get all the sites listed in the overview if we login early on February 10.

Overview of the trip:

Day 1 (6/14): Caravan from CO to the first camp site near Hanksville UT
Day 2 (6/15): Drive to and camp at Happy Canyon and The Neck camp sites
Day 3 (6/16): Drive to and camp at Dollhouse 1 & 2 camp sites with possible hiking in the area
Day 4 (6/17): Drive to and camp at The Maze Overlook 1 & 2 camp sites with possible hiking in the area
Day 5 (6/18): Leave Canyonlands and head back to Moab to camp for the night, explore a trail if we have time, maybe night wheeling?
Day 6 (6/19): Home

A couple of us are extending our stay through 6/21 to ride some trails.

It's recommended to bring 5-10 gallons of extra fuel. This isn't going to be a very long trip but it's better to be safe than sorry. I'll probably bring 5 gallons myself. Based on estimates with Gaia, I've got 242 miles from fuel to fuel. I think I'll be safe with a full tank of gas in my small tank Jeep but going to bring the 5 gallons anyway so I have an excuse to buy new things for the Jeep! :D
