Rally Point Details:

Plan B, email for descriptors. No Leavitt lake as it’s under snow. Bodie ghost town then up to Belfort Ghost town.

Departing 8am Friday June 3rd from the McDonalds at Santa Rita Rd and 580E in Pleasanton CA. We will head up 4 hours to the very top of the Sierras on Hwy 108. There is a 3 mile off road trail to get to Leavitt Lake from 108. Leavitt is a cool alpine glacier lake that we will be disperse camping at, and be aware it is at an elevation of 9600’ if anyone is prone to altitude sickness.

Saturday morning we will head down to 395 south and fill up in Bridgeport, bring a spare kidney to pay for gas, then we will jump on the Bodie Masonic Road visiting a couple mines and lunch at Bodie Ghost Town State Park. From there we will head to Aurora Ghost town and it’s well-known cemetery to camp for the night.

Sunday AM we will head out across the range and drop in behind Mono Lake with some cool views of the lake as we head home.

This is an easy off road trip, great for the whole family, and be sure to check out the history of the Bodie Ghost Town and area.
