Rally Point Details:
July Meet & Greet
Sugar Hill State Forest area. South West of Watkins Glen.
After scouting things out yesterday, I believe this area has enough gravel, seasonal and abandoned roads to entertain us for a day or two. Including a couple of good mud holes, rain depending.
Saturday ride. Free camping available at the Sugar Hill Fire Tower. 20 some sites. There are fire pits, picnic tables, bathrooms. You can climb the fire tower. No showers. 15 minutes into Watkins Glen.
Proposed itinerary ( open to input! )
I'll be camping Friday night. Watkins Glen for bbq dinner.
Saturday 9 am - meetup, then trail run, then camp dinner and fire.
Sunday - more roads, then probably head for home.
I will get to the area early on Friday to scout a couple other roads i did not get to yet.
There is one road, that with the recent rain, certainly requires 4wd and good clearance. Alternate routes are available. Along this road is also a few good mud holes. These have bypasses.
Most of the rest of the route will be gravel roads and seasonal roads that may be rocky. Nothing a stock vehicle can't handle.
Sounds ok? Would love input / feedback.
