Mojave Preserve Astronomy
I'll have two or three telescope to look through. Bring binoculars if you have them and red flashlights or headlamps. Normally, Overlanders love their lights! Trying to maintain night vision will add tremendously to how much you will be able to see at a dark sky site like this.

Rally Point Details:
Kelso Dunes have gotten pretty busy lately so I'm moving to a more remote site. It's not any harder to get to but it's much further off main roads and won't likely see any crowds.
There is a campsite or two just south of Drum Peak off of the New York Mountain Road. There is space for a few vehicles and another small campsite within walking distance across the road. There is at least one fire pit. There are no pit toilets and no water or other facilities.
I'll get there Friday to hopefully grab a site to setup. Getting to this site may require off road capability (tires, high clearance, 4x4, etc). We don't plan on doing anything very difficult.
It's about 17 miles east of the Mojave Road Historical Marker on Kelso Cima Rd or approximately 12 miles from where the Mojave Road intersects Lanfair Road (depending on how you go.)
