February 19th to 20th, 2021 – Part II
Night Run to Camp Granite - General Patton’s Training Center
We plan on exploring the following locations:
- Camp Granite, Midway Ghost Town, Arlington Mine, Blackhole Tunnel
- Black Jack Tunnel, checking old trails, fox holes, old stone cabin, etc.
Meeting place, Date and time: February 19th, 2021 at 8:00pm
8:00 pm – General Patton Museum / Chevron at 62450 Chiriaco Rd, Chiriaco Summit, CA
8:20 pm – Hit the trail to Camp Granite
Day 1 – Leave General Patton Museum on the trail to Desert Center, making our way up to Camp Granite where we will camp for the night.
Day 2 – Head out at 9:00am to Arlington Mine, Black Jack Tunnel and up the to old military bunkers. Also plan on doing lot of exploring through lots of different types of terrain.
Day 3 – Head out at 9:00am exploring old fox holes and exploring the trails back to Hwy 62. Will be done around 5:00pm, then head home.
What do bring:
- Extra water, running at higher elevations you need to drink lots of water.
- Food, cooking stove, 1 bundles of fire wood (one for each day).
- Jeep/Truck in good working order
- HAM Radio – Channel 146.460
- 33” tires minimum off road tires.
- Full size spare tire, tools and first aid kit.
- High lift jack, bottle jack, floor jack or whatever you use to change a tire.
- Bring 10 extra gallons of fuel.
- Tent, sleeping bag and warm clothes.
