3 night trip to West Region of Death Valley. November 8th 8 am meet up in Modesto at 37.69962, -121.04917 (the McDonalds at the corner of Dale and Palendale) and then meet at Rally Point in Lone Pine for those outside of Modesto.

Rally Point Details:

3 night trip to Death Valley Friday November 8th to Monday November 11th. A moderate level trip with some challenging obstacles. Requirements for the trip will be 4x4, high clearance, preferably rock sliders, extra fuel, Amber light on the rear of the vehicle and HAM radio communication.

Day 1: If not from the Central Valley meet in Lone Pine then head up Swansea grade to camp near Burgess Mine. Elevation will be about 8500 feet. Temperature likely to drop down to the 30s at nighttime.

Day 2: head to salt tram then to Cerro Gordo mine. We will make a diversion to Father Crowley Overlook to see jet fighters at Jedi Fighter interchange and have lunch. We will then back track to then turn off to Hunter Mountain Pass. After the pass we will camp a Ubehebe Talc mine.

Day 3: Plan for sunrise viewing of Ubehebe crater then to Race Track. Following race track we will take Lippincott pass to then enter in saline valley. Head North through warm springs. We will then head through Steel Pass and Dedeckera Canyon. We will then enter Eureka dunes to settle for the 3rd night of camping.

Day 4: head home
