Plumas NF Backcountry Discovery Trail

The mountains are once again calling our names! This will be a 3 day weekend trip (August 23rd-25th). We will be leaving the central valley in the early afternoon. The route is currently being mapped out. The plan is for easy to possibly moderate (in certain spots) trails. This trip is family friendly and should be a lot of fun!

Rally Point Details:

Day 1: Convoy departs from rally point at 1:30pm sharp. Campsite for the first night will either be at Poker Flat (175 miles) or at Harrison Flat (190 miles) depending on the what the group decides. 14-30 miles will be on the trail.

Day 2: Drivers meeting at 8:45am. AIS (arse in seat) at 0900. This will be a big mileage day on the trail. 40-60 miles depending on last night campsite. Our destination will be Gold Lakes 4x4 campgrounds. If we are running low on time, can bypass some trail and hit the HWY so save some time. But the tail seems to pretty easy as most of it is nice forestry roads, so we should be ok.

Day 3: Depart for the HWY and head home.

As we all know, this is all subject to change permitting trail conditions and what not. As always come prepared and if you have any input, I am all ears!
