Negative side of Instagraam and Covid19
From the article:

The problem is further exacerbated by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. With COVID-19-related business shutdowns suspending virtually all indoor recreation venues across most of the state, weekends have seen Californians flock to hiking trails and waterways in even greater numbers than usual.

I like how they are handling the problem. They didn’t actually close the site, they just said you have to park 3 miles away and hike up to it. That will discourage the couch potatoes while still leaving access to those willing to get out and walk for a bit.

Gotta point the finger somewhere. The fact state and national parks are not utilizing "timed reservations" is ridiculous. Rocky Mountain NP is and it works well. Control volume and control your in and outs. It just means more work for the parks folks, but hey, its better than funding cuts and park closures.

I was there May, 2018. Nobody was there except a couple guys on kayaks putting in. When I drove over it was pretty sketchy, swaying side to side. Glad I was able to see it before it went viral.
