We are currently planning for half a lap of Australia. Departure date is set at somewhere after Easter in April 2023, which is just over 1 year from now.
Below is a rough idea of where we want to travel, with some point of interest marked on the map. Surely we will be coming past many more interesting places.
The idea is to travel relative quickly from Melbourne to Perth as we have done this section before. we are also skipping the south west corner of WA, for that same reason.
The section in red is what we definitely want to cover in this trip, but the green part is unsure at this stage.
Green section is Oodnadatta track and the Flinders Ranges, which might need to be left for another time as the Kimberley's and Pilbara might require more time.
The idea is to be away for 8-9 weeks which we expect is just enough time to see some of the highlights.
