Hi Jim- There are 10 levels of difficulty on the drop down menu for the road challenges, I chose Moderate Level 3, considering past two trips to this location. Ignore the 5 as it just reflects the 5th level out of 10, 10 being extreme.

Just signed up. Got a little taste of this area a few years ago and have been wanting to go back, unfortunately rain was an issue and we had to turn back early. The clay out there is super slick when wet, put one of the tacos into a ditch.

Lets just say, I am really excited about this trip. I just went through all the points on the map and am excited to see all the areas you chose. I can't wait....I am sure I will have a few questions along the way!!
The best part is that this will be my first "official" trip with my new rig build.

To be clear, I am not the OP/organizer and am not speaking for them/this event. However, I've done the run through Gold Butte, Grand Canyon Parashant Paiute Wilderness, etc. from Mesquite out to St. George many times. My short answer would be "no." The longer answer, is it really depends on the route they take. The Gold Butte Backcountry Byway itself would be an easy "yes", and you can connect that into mostly well-groomed roads to get up and out to St. George and you'd be fine. But if there going up something like Lime Kiln out of Mesquite it'd be a hard no. I just did that route in Oct, and we had a stock (other than +1" AT tires) 1st Gen Xterra with us with a very seasoned driver and it had to work hard through the tougher parts. I don't think any AWD vehicle (as opposed to a true 4wd with a low range) would have made it through... at least not easily and without some damage.

As I mentioned above I've run that area a fair amount so I'm familiar with it and I'm fully self-sufficient. Happy to help how I can, but at a minimum won't be any sort of burden.

I'm not in charge of anything related to this, but 100% of the trips I've been on, which is a lot, I have NEVER seen everyone show up who signed up 3+ months in advance. I'm betting you'll be able to go when someone inevitably drops.
