I hate to ask but ...

No pun intended.

I only ask because I've stepped in it before. Hiking on the trail we try to stay 80 paces off trail to handle our business. What's your solution?

Thanks for the link I'll check it out. We have been gone low tech bucket bags and a pool noodle. We use a gel the hospitals use to solidify any liquids.
Only reason i started this was because we were out on the trail last trip and came up on another jeep and a guy comes out the brush tp in left hand says wats up and wants to shake hands.

Oh jeeze.. I'd call him out on that one. I typically keep baby wipes in my door map pocket just because they come in handy. For general camp sanitation brother brings one of these washing stations, it's essentially a cheaper version of the Partner Steel Wishy Washy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/118131226/advanced-hand-wash-station-hands-free?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=camp raft wash stations&ref=sr_gallery_1

Personally I use a military water container with a spigot attachment to wash my hands because it's less to carry. I don't know what to say about the other jeeper though, that get's into trail and camp etiquette which can be a delicate balance.

I've always got my shovel, TP, and sani wipes or hand sanitizer in the rig. Sometimes I wish I sprung for a bumper dumper or a better setup, but it is what it is. I do the #2 away from trails and usually where no one would accidentally stumble on it. Buried and marked. Scouts taught me well :tearsofjoy:

I looked at the bumper dumpet also. I think i want to make one that hangs off the passenger side rear wheel. Maybe even incorporate it into a shower set up for privacy.

Ever since we picked up a portable toilet and WAG bags we haven't not brought it on a trip, it's just so much nicer of an experience. Before then yes, hiked pretty far from camp to find a quiet area, definitely away from any water source. Baby wipes for general cleanliness are a standard. http://www.cleanwaste.com/products
I use this same product and always with the bags. For those that don't know, there is a net which holds the bag in place while you conduct business. I have heard some will remove the net, dig a cat hole, and just use the unit as a seat for comfort. At ~$3 per bag, it's not a bad idea. Whatever sizzles your bacon.

If you gotta do it on the trail, go off the trail, lean up against a tree and poop into a little hole, cover it up and put a rock on top.
I second or third or whatever we're at for baby wipes, theyre very handy.

Same here, this is some of the best money spent. This makes doing your business so much better. Depneding on camp site I will use the bags or dig a cathole if I am way off the grid in a place that can accomandate this.
