So I am no chef.. dabble in cooking but have to fallow directions to make something good!

What is the one thing that you cook that is cooked on every trip? We normally pack dry foods or mountain house type food because of the worry of food spoilage issues. But normally have a big meal the first or second night depending on when we get camp set up. The thing I have to say comes out on every trip is the breakfast the first mornings after that first night at camp. Its been a thing sense I was little and it always stuck with me ( make it at home too). But breakfast burritos. Not just any plan ol burrito though.. its a egg tater sometimes bacon some times sausage cooked in beer. Some caloha and a flower tortilla its not a camping trip with out It.

That first night if its not dark yet is normally a steak and taters or some kabobs I like making this cajun foul packet deal too but do that on the gas grill to get it to the temp I like. Was wondering if you all had some good ( oh man you gotta try this type food). Or ideas burgers and brauts are always a good deal too! Make a mean peach cobbler with a dutch oven too . Sirracha chicken tacos. Nothing Mexican about them but we love them and eat them but on nearly every trip, sometimes for a few meals. The best trick we found is to cook the rice at home and then keep it on ice till you need it. Much easier to reheat than try to simmer perfectly on a camp stove.

My wife prides herself on never repeating a meal. She was introduced to overlanding/camping by me when we started dating 10 years ago and jumped in with both feet. Every trip she researches meals and puts together a menu. That’s a win for me because I hate to cook. Before it was Spaghettios and peanut butter and jelly.

Pb and j goes along ways haha. Boiled water and cup a noodles or chef boyorde. Use to eat alot of that fighting forest fires and packing horses in to places. Eat spaghettio cold. Lucky you can tie anything on to a truck. Remember one time on a fire we got flown in 3 hour old mcdonalds breakfast sandwiches.. went to days with out eating on that fire haha

For some reason it's been grilled cheese sandwiches and beer on the first evening. Typically I do all the cooking on our trips (funny, the wife HATES my cooking any other time) and I want something quick and easy the first night. After that it's a toss up since our teardrop's kitchen is almost as well equipped as our home kitchen (minus an oven and a microwave).
