Nice, we almost did that, but at the 11th hour decided it would be best if we (my wife can’t stand her after about an hour either) tolerated one of my in laws so that we could spend the evening with the 93 & 91 year olds. In hindsight? Shoulda done it.
Last year we had Turkey dinner in the truck consisting of frozen turkey TV dinners, Lemonade, and Hostess Cupcakes purchased late in the night at a truck stop outside of the San Rafael Swell in Utah.
This year we had planned on cooking a full dinner at camp somewhere near Moab, however we got distracted in Death Valley on the way spending Thanksgiving there and did not stop for ingredients prior so wound up at a little cafe in the park where they had a full turkey dinner with all the fixings pay by donation, sharing a meal with a bunch of strangers in a national park was a first for us, overall pretty awesome experience. Travelling over the holidays is fast becoming one of our favorite things.
