Any Subaru owners out there using rock lights under their rigs? If so, where are you mounting them at for best results?

Yup! Planning on entering King of the Hammers next year, just need these to make my rig ready! You plan on climbing rocks with your Subaru?

I agree 100%! Also nice if you’re on the trail after dark and need some extra light to see any obstacles under your vehicle or if you need extra light for evening vehicle repairs! So much more than a “rock crawling only” light setup.I've considered the same, of course the subies usually don't climb like a rock crawler but could still be useful for when it does get stuck and could just be a good general low light camp light once done for the day.

For sure. When it warms up some here in Ohio, I’m going to look and see if I can find a good mounting spot!As far as placement, I just figured for the subies they would be best high up in the wheel well maybe in closer to the inside to shine more behind the wheel, I would think anywhere else would be really low and hard to clean off to get more light once dirty.

Yeah, I saw this the other day too, thanks!!! I’m going to reach out to them and see how they did it or what they recommend.Found this on Instagram, not an outback but maybe they can help you decide

Yeah, I feel your pain with the projects getting pushed to the back burner... I haven't ordered any yet only because I'm not sure of placement, number I'd need, etc.... I love the idea of 2 mounted on the inside of the back hatch! I've always thought that the rear dome light produces an insufficient amount of light. If you get around to installing them, be sure to post pics and I'll do likewise!I’ve had 8 Black Oak rock lights to install for around a year or so. I always have projects going and they just fell to the back burner. Not to mention my ‘versatile lighting’ project really does it all. My intended purpose was always mainly indirect light at camp. Placement was going to be 2 in front and behind the front wheels, 2 in front of the rear wheels, and 2 in the liftgate for additional light when the hatch is open. I’ve also had 2 flush mounted area lights to go in the rear bumper just as long.
