Not so new to 4x4, overlanding and being self sufficient are attractive to me. I understand self-sufficient more from a primitive environment. I am a member of the American Mountain Men and we have to be self-sufficient, it is part of our requirement. I have a new 2020 Toyota Tacoma and I started off just getting the truck to be able to getaway for camping in more remote parts. Then I met a friend who is into overlanding, so I guess I’m hooked. I have never used forums to find information, how to I navigate around to find help with outfitting my rig?

Hello and welcome.
Each Secrion is titled with a label describing the sub forms,
Each subforum further breaks down the information... so Welcome to Overland Bound is broken down into three sub forums: New Members Start Here, FAQ; Things You Should Know, and Community Ideas and requests. In these sections you will find information pertinent to new members.
It sounds like you want to check out the Vehicle section and probably overland gear section... check out the BASE Camp Articles as well. Skip the forum all together and read the news articles on the home page. Get a feeling for what is offered in here, then just take your time and read posts that are interesting to you.
Finally and most importantly use the search feature and search for what you are looking for.

You can message a member by typing in @(user name) in the mail box icon, or by clicking a user name and selecting “Start a Conversation”

:)
Large group many questions have been asked and answered many times over.

I would suggest just slowly browsing each forum section to get a feel for what is posted there. Lots of great information. You might also look at the Tacomaworld Forums if you aren't already on there for specific vehicle ideas.
