Regarding the Signal Peak trail off hwy 80 in Ca. l Is that an up & back trail or does it continue thru to another exit point? All videos only address getting to the summit and nothing about getting out.
Anybody?

Both, the technical side is on the fordyce side and you can take a Honda up the other side off Cisco grove. Currently unreachable unless your on 40s and beads or tracked

Eagle Lakes exit to the Fordyce Staging grounds is the "hard" way to signal peak. You don't actually go on the Fordyce trail, the signal peak trail is its own spur. Honestly I think its an easy run, and a good intro for offroading. The beginning is a tight climb, but there is enough pullouts. The hard part, a rocky shelf, has a bypass.

The easy way is Cisco Grove exit and you take the dirt road right before the campgrounds and head on up. The road is easy. The only challenging section one could say is the shale climb to the summit. Once on it there are no turn outs, and its like a 600ft fall. So out an back. Or if your feeling gutsy you can make a loop and go down the hard side...

Once at the top there is tons of room, a cool hike to the old Railroad fire look out, or to the mines north of the tower.

Right now though there is probably 8ft of snow, so doubt many will make it.
