Hi there,

I’ve got a 94 FZJ80. I’m looking into roof top tent and rack combo options. I’m wondering if anyone has had any luck installing a roof top tent on top of a Gobi Ranger style rack.

I asked iKamper but their response was a bit vague. We all know Gobi doesn’t really answer emails.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I’ve done this install for customers multiple times. It shouldn’t be a problem. Gobi isn‘t the most ideal roof rack to mount an iKamper but it will work.

My Tuff Stuff Alpha could probably fit two adults and two small kids cozily. I would look for one with an annex for extra room and privacy you may need with five people. Nothing special about the Alpha that can't be found in multiple brand tents. Footprint is about the same as a king sized bed. They do sell an annex for it.
