Put it under the trip section. Maybe use the title prefix "Resolved" like in the support forum when something is solved so if people click on it the sub-forum they would know just from a quick glance if anyone was still stranded/needing help. Maybe eventually tie it into the map feature, so nearby members that have flagged themselves as helpers would get a notice when someone asks for help by them.

Love the idea, if we wanted to get real fancy it could be set up so that you can text a number with your information and it would appear on the forums in case of terrible or no signal (using something like a delorme)

I have no access to the member map yet :) but doesn't it give some kind of PM function or contact details of a member (or members) nearby?

Having to rely on somebody nearby reading a topic in a (sub)forum that is way down on the list probably going to mean that you will be stuck for a few days before somebody notices the topic..
