Like most others I looked at the Gobi, Frontrunner, ect.. for a frame/body mount style rack for my 2017 JK. Like most, the lead times and price always made me hesitate on pushing the "go" button. Then I staggered upon this one day. The TrailFX JO29T 117.36" black rook rack. It is available on ebay (three left at time of this posting) for $399.99 with free shipping so I pulled the trigger. Man, I am super happy. The box(s) were at my door in days and the installation was as to be expected. The final connection is tight.
It mounts to the frame in the back, on the sides where the bumper threaded holes are (WARNING, YOU MUST HAVE AN AFTERMARKET REAR BUMBER AND THE SIDE HOLES ARE NOT USED AND THE RACK CAN CURVE INTO THEM). The front mounts to the windshield bolts. I started at the rear (frame) and the last connection was at the driver side windshield. I also added some RTV at each joint to minimize noise and watertight a bit, The side to side rails have knobs which I replaced with lock nuts. I also drilled holes in the plastic plugs at the bottom of the mount points so water can escape. Man this thing is heavy duty, the pipes are larger than Gobi (more weight) but this thing ain't going nowhere. I absolutely love it and for $399.99. That is what I am talking about!
Last tid bit..I called the manufacturer to see if I could buy an addition side to side rail and they do not sell them individually. Oh yeah, prior to this I had the Smittybuilt rack (attaches to the rain gutter and back window) I bolted that rack to the top of the new TrailFX with some u bolts and it fit like a glove.
Hope this helps some of you
