So I’m trying to decide if I really need a 20lb bottle or if I can get by with a 10lb... curious who has run both and how they have worked out. I’m going aluminum so trying to decide if I can shave the 13 extra pounds by using the 10 lb...

For my application, I’ll likely be on the trails for a week or two at a time and I’m running a skottle, Coleman stove, lantern, and instant water heater off mine so what do you guys recommend???

I have a 5lb on my trailer. I use my water heater maybe 3 times in 5 days. Stove twice a day. I've not had it run out yet on a ten day trip but I'm probably pretty close. For you I would think 10lb should do it. If you have the room for the 20, you wouldn't fill it as much.

10 lb and back it up with 1-2 green bottles for just in case. I like the refillable kind below.

Legal Refillable 1lb cylinder - I won't debate about the many other methods. This is the only one that is approved by the DOT.

I have the luxury of a full size truck...performance on 1 lb wasn't too impressive. I am using a 20lb tank with 12' extension mounted on a 20lb Power Tank stainless mount. I don't want to run out of gas. I have a MSR white gas stove as a backup.

Everyone’s applications will be different. With your list, probably a 20#. We use a Coleman stove/grill and fire ring with a 20 and it lasts around 5 -7 days.

I usually get by with a 10lb for powering the skottle and stove. If I am running my propane fire pit, say in an area under burn restrictions, I use my 20lb
