Enthusiast II
Hi Folks,
my name is Johannes (aka Frisko) and I am living in the southern part of Germany near Stuttgart. I always liked the overlanding livestyle but never had an offroad rig so far. I am going to buy a 3.6l 4door JK Wrangler next week which will be converted into a camper then. As I wrote in my short introduction already, I am a big kayak fan and currently switching from river/lake paddling more into real sea kayaking. Would be nice, if there are other sea kayak enthusiasts here, because overlanding and exploring new coastal reagions is a perfect combination. I do not really have that much offroad experience, at least with a capable offroad vehicle. I grew up on a farm, where I could drive offroad with other "toys" a lot , but when it comes to real offroad trails with steep ramps, I guess I am the limit and not my car. Therefore I am also planning to join an offroad driving/recovery training. Beginning this year, I joined already a 2 day Wrangler specific "mechanic" course and I learned a lot. I can really recommend it. You learn all about the weak spots of the car, how you have to clean it properly if its really muddy and most importantly, what you can fix on the trail.
I am still waiting for my OB member badge (ordered just yesterday).
That's it for now. Hope to see you on the trail/road.
