Hey all. Just wanted to share a trailer that I built three years ago on a harbor freight frame. I ran a piece of 2x2 steel tubing down the middle and welded it on to give the trailer rigidity and also added a 3500lb axel. The box is made with marine grade 3/4' plywood that I only joined with pocket holes and a several bottles of glue. I'm blanking on the brand of paint but it's basically indestructible. It's the same stuff the navy paints the ship decks with allegedly. It's even hard to score with knife. The kitchen I made with a poplar frame and wrapped sheet aluminum around it and then topped it off with skate-lite cutting board material. I can't pull the kitchen out all the way right now because the driveway is too narrow but under the second shelf's black cover is a two burner stove. The back compartment runs the length of the trailer and is for storing fishing rods and kayak paddles. There's two 100 watt solar panels on the roof and two 100amp batteries in the cabin that power the faucet pump, internal and external lights, the 12v cooler and outlets for charge phones and radios etc. All the doors I had custom made to size and direct from the manufacturer were actually very affordable. It's been an awesome trailer so far but it's not without some shortcomings; the overall trailer is too short for mounted awning (I could fix that with bigger tire), no place to sleep in it and if I put an rtt on I lose the solar power and the fishing rod storage is too big. Anyway happy to answer any questions if I can remember the answers! Ha.
Cheers
Mike
