No comms - no mission. Communication is key and we had a good and lively roundtable discussion on communications today. We talked about the different radio applications for overlanders in Europe such as PMR, Freenet, CB and HAM radio, mobile devices versus handheld radios, proper wiring and installation, regulations, licensing requirements and more and exchanged experiences with radio comms.

However, we also talked about satellite communications such as messaging, tracking and also emergency communications with a satellite messenger such as the inReach. Communication is not only an important but also a wide field. The interest in it is correspondingly big and there is much we can talk about, learn and share.

We have therefore agreed to hold another Comms Talk in the near future and to extend it to other communication technologies on the road in addition to radio comms. And even more members can participate who did not have time this time to dial in. I will post another Rally Point soon.
