Here I am trying something new, never thought that I would join a online community like this and TBH not sure what to expect or unsure of how to "behave".....I will say this, looking forward to find like minded individuals that enjoy solitude and keep low key satisfaction of seeing or being at some incredible places and leave it better than we found it.....
If there are any MTB aficionados on the group hit me up I might be ready for a good ride.20170724_141110.jpg

Welcome, that's a good looking setup you have there! You will find that this is a very family friendly, helpful community, with lots to offer.

There are several Texas members here, and organized meet ups across the state. Look in the Meetups forum to see if there are any in your area. If you are on Facebook, there is also a regional Overland Bound Facebook group for your area where people plan trips and events. https://www.facebook.com/groups/OverlandBoundSouthwest/

And the Southwest forum here: https://overlandbound.com/forums/forums/southwest-az-nm-tx-ok.80/

We also have several mountain bikers, who have a few conversations in the Overland Related Recreation section of the forum. https://overlandbound.com/forums/forums/overland-related-recreation.92/

If you need any help or information, just ask.

Thank you Steve for the warm welcome!
The set up has been a few years in the making with a few hiccups along the way....I'm really happy with the way it performs and even happier with the cost (since I have done everything myself) to revitalize that old military trailer and keep it safe and capable.....not finished yet!
I have send a friend request to the Facebook group and see where we go from here.
Best Regards!

Welcome, love the FJs, I really have to get in one and see if I like driving it as much as drooling on them.

I’ve been on a number of forums, but never seem to stick around most of them. This place is full of great people and great info, I’m sure you’ll dig it.

Ripley,
I owned two Jeep XJ's (Cherokee) and a Comanche back in the day, unfortunately in 2009 my wife totalled the 2001 we had and was very close to buying another one just because she almost split a Volvo in half when she wrecked and the only injury she dealt with was a sore elbow.

During the research process to replace a discontinued 2001 XJ model I kept on getting great reviews about the room, comfort, capabilities, etc. of the FJ for comparable price I test drove a 2008 and loved the way it handled and how much more room I had compared to the XJ.
Haven't looked back since....the only regret is that I didn't upgraded to the TTUE in 2014 when they got discontinued.
