My wife and I are looking to get out to the Sierras this 4th of July.
We're going to take in the beauty of the mountains on Plumas County Backcountry Discovery Trail - anyone interested in joining us? (I'm not an OB member, so I can't make a Rally Point)
Super descriptive trail map: https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5428383.pdf
We did part of these trails Spring 2018 as our first overlanding trip, but had to call it quits when our air suspension sprung a leak. Looking for some redemption this time around with less frustration you might say.
I'd say it's a great set of trails to get your feet wet in overlanding.
Rough plans:
Leave Bay Area Wednesday night... find a dispersed camping spot, then meet up Thursday, camping Thurs-Sat nights. Lots of opportunities to duck out early if needed.
Vehicle Needs:
I'm thinking any stock 4WD with moderate ground clearance should be able to tackle all these trails.
