Im gonna guess its due to where I am geographically located but it seems like everywhere thats within a couple hours or so of me has no RTT's available(atleast not the ones i would purchase)! Whats even worse is if you rely on the online answers, they are right there and available for pick up! Thankfully I like to call and check. I really wanted a tent by this weekend lol!! And there also doesn't seem to be a large used market here either. Boy the southeast strikes again!! You want some heat, sweet tea, and sweltering summers, we have you covered...anything else and you're sol! :-)

Does that include CVT in Chattanooga? I was at there warehouse a few months ago and I’d guess they had a few HUNDRED in stock. I was amazed. Of course, that may not be the case now.

Actually no, I haven't checked Chattanooga. But all the stores i've found havent had anything( but of course i wasn't looking for CVT). The main problem has been the websites and online are not up to date with the physical stores.

We had the same problem with fishing gear. All of our stuff is back home so when we wanted to go the other day we had to buy new gear. We had to go to 3 stores to find a couple of cheap poles and a set of hooks sinkers etc.

I guess COVID-19 has slowed the Chinese shipments :smirk:
Possibly but I don't think it has anything to do with any Chinese manufacturing. People can argue all day about quality and such and not wanting something made in China but they also don't realize that probably over 3/4 of the stuff they own and use is made in China. Most stuff says assembled in the US not made in the US lol. Everyone has their opinions though and thats all good!! Just my 2 dirty pennies worth.

Well, given the massive increase in the number of people who are taking up camping (been steadily growing since the financial crisis - See boom in Overlanding content and products!) it is no surprise. Long gone are the days of deciding on Friday afternoon to go camping at most state or national campgrounds so we old coots now have something else to gripe about on the porch rocker. Seriously tho having to book a National Park a year in advance makes me very envious of those of you that live in areas with many remote and off-grid camping. Chicago-land not one of those areas.

LOL for real!! It really has skyrocketed! I am one of those folks that doesn't want to have to prepare a year in advance to get or go somewhere unfortunately. Sometimes I really don't know until the last minute if i'll be able to and there really isn't anything good around me. But as soon as i cash in that winning lottery ticket......:tearsofjoy:

Camping will turn into the number 1 outdoor activity. The camping that I have found open is booked solid for months. RV sales are thru the roof so get ready. Look what is happening at the National Parks all ready. I am writing off this summer of for long trips. Making reservations for next late summer and fall as soon as they become available. My concern is hundreds of “rookies” not knowing and following the rules and trashing everything. Back Country rescue will also skyrocket.

Well hopefully a lot of this boom is just people itching to get outside after this rediculous quarantine so it should eventually die back down to what it was before. But even before you still had to book some of those popular camp site way in advance. And hopefully some of those rookies will stick with it and become experienced responsible campers. I always try to look at the bright side but it does suck when you show up to a site that's been trashed

I've watched the "camping" fad come and go over the years. The Rubicon spiked the "harder core" off-road marked by selling a mostly capable vehicle. Next came the JK and now people had more room. "Overlanding" came next then everyone was stuck at home with some making more on unemployment and a large supplement check.
I went out last month for a run somewhere remote and all the areas I drove past were crowded. I also saw a ton of new gear. Im not surprised we would see a shortage of outdoor gear. Factor in some of the warehouses had to close and there you go. I'm having some custom pieces made and the manufacture told me, they are all at the shop. they cant get the parts to make anything though.
