I think I may have found the right forum to post questions about overlanding.

I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sport S (2dr, hard top, 3.6L, Auto).

It has an AEV 2.5" lift kit, full skid plates, 285s, Dana44s with e-lockers (swapped out Dana30/35), and many more mods, all functional, nothing aesthetic.

I have CB/GMRS, Garmin Overlander (I think its an excellent device; I also have an iPad Pro 11" with several navigation/trip apps), a Garmin inReach Explorer+, etc.

I'm installing twin drawers, a fridge slider (for Dometic CFX3 35). Still trying to decide on a stove (Cook Partner is 8-10 weeks out!).

My questions will be about sustainability. Water, tent (ground), bathing, etc., and of course secure storage. :)

Hope to learn a lot from y'all experienced overlanders!

PS, US Army 1979-85, drove a Mutt M151, plenty of offroad and camping experience, but I'm hoping not too stale knowledge.

I just checked out your website (Blog). Nice build and awesome trips!!

I've been through the Rubicon over 60 times.. My recommendation for sustainability (specific to the Rubicon) is pack like you are going backpacking. The lighter you keep your jeep the easier it will be on your vehicle. Too much cargo leads to busted u-joints, axles and driveshafts.

Belate thanks, just saw your response. It'll be on the heavy side, with steel full belly skids, steel front/rear bumpers, winch, fridge, twin drawers, etc. I plan to take any bypasses that the trail offers.

I have a momth, so planning on hitting some of the Moab/SoCal trails and so much other stuff. I recently added 35s with BFG KO2s, hoping that'll give me more clearance.

Last weekend I hit Crawl Daddy and Crawler's Ridge in PA, the 35s seemed to have an easier time on the rough spots than the 33s, should have listened to my buddies sooner. :)
