want to get into overlanding to further enjoy the outdoors away from the norm. I purchased a Toyota LC100 for everyday use, but want to change it up for overlanding. It is stock all the way currently. I am in Cincinnati, Ohio and I am a super Novice at overlanding. I hike and camp plenty, but never built an offroad vehicle or even have much mechanical knowledge. I don't know where to start on the vehicle upgrading! I will be reading a lot on the forums, but if anyone wants to help feel free to give me a shout!

Welcome to the OB Forum, @climbmnt - there's a ton of info here to help you out, and a very diverse membership of a wide variety in skill and experience.

I suggest doing a bunch of reading and poking around before you start modifying your ride too much. Then you'll have a better and more efficient plan that won't hit your pocketbook as much as it might otherwise. I'd go for function and safety over looks and appeal, personally. A lot of people just getting into 'overlanding' buy an awful lot of stuff to hang off their vehicle or because they think they're supposed to have this or that piece of gear. It's a large part of why you see so much barely used stuff for sale. A lot of great deals out there because of this.

Did you know that almost 40% of the US population lives within a 500 mile radius of Cincinnati? That's pretty wild, really.

I come through SW Ohio fairly often on my way to and from various places and have a van and trailer outfitted for long-distance travel and camping. Let me know if you ever want to get together for coffee, beer, or some chili at Skyline/Gold Star when I come through. Always fun to meet others interested in getting outdoors. Skyline just posted an image of mine in their insta feed last week or so.
