Traveler I

Hey all. Currently writing from Denver but flying out this Wednesday to Uganda Africa! My wife and I are going to work for a school for two years. One of the first orders of business will be to purchase a vehicle! We are hoping to find a good reliable four wheel drive that can take us on some adventures!

I've done some overloading and off-roading in the past via motorcycle (KTM 950, KLR 650) and truck (Tacoma) so I have some experience in this area.

Not sure if there are any members in Africa but that's ok. I have aspirations to see the mountain gorillas in western Uganda, the Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, and parts of Kenya.

I've been watching all of the YouTube videos and have really enjoyed them. I'll post up pictures of my new rig once we get it!

Cheers!

Well we made it to Uganda safely a little over two weeks ago. I managed to find a descent rig for the right price. Hopefully the picture shows up.
It’s a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (KZJ78W), 92k Kms, 4 wheel drive, 3.0L diesel, auto trans.
It’s not perfect but in pretty good condition for its age. I’m planning for a front bumper of some sort and a roof rack.
So far it’s been great. I love the little turbo diesel. I’ll be starting a Uganda adventure thread soon.
