Im new to this forum. I live and go to school in NC. About a year ago I got a limited 5.7L HEMi Jeep Commander. Got it slightly lifted for now with some tow points so I can do some moderate trail riding and overlanding. Plan is more protection then more lift.

Hello fellow Commander. I also just bought a 5.7L 2006. I'm in Lexington, KY. Not too far from you. Haven't done much to my rig, yet, but have new wheels, tires and a 4" lift scheduled in June. Having a hard time finding any rear bumpers with swing gates for it. Thinking I'm going to have to get one fabricated.

Glad to see im not the only commander. Look at https://wambumpers.com/ they are the only shop making and shipping front and rear bumpers right now. I know few other commanders running them and they really like them. Start price is like 700 I think and goes up with more stuff added. There is a big IfS rig meet on the weekend of may 27 at uwharrie off road park that being run by two guys that are big in the commander community on facebook. Most the rigs that are coming are commanders. If your free you should defiantly come out. Some people are coming Friday night and camping and then trail riding starts around 11 on Saturday. I wish i had 4 inch right now im just 2 inch budget lift but im gonna switch to modified old man emu for 4 inches soon and then save for a superlift so i can run a modified superlift and get 4 inch and 35 inch tires.

Hey, thanks for the link to wambumpers. I did find another shop online making bumpers for the XK. http://www.bluelakeoffroad.com/index.php?p=product&id=115&parent=56
I have a shop in Lexington that does great work. They'll be doing my new tires, wheels and lift. He's telling me he can build a bumper for me to spec. I'm waiting to see a design and pricing, then I'll compare to these other shops.

I'm expecting cost to come in around $2k for bumper, lights, tire rack and Jerry cans. We'll see.

Yeah 2k before shipping sounds about right. I didn't know bluelake still made bumpers. I thought they switched to Tag which went under because of super bad service, and Wam a different shop went and bought all there stock and designs. If you decided to go online. I've heard wams quality and customer service is impeccable. Natalie one of the employs and customer service personnel is on all the commander facebook pages. Always responding to feedback and taking it to account. They really seem to be a shop that wants to help out he rigs that aren't as popular like the wranglers and cherokees. I just got all my recover points put on so I want be a total noob at the meet haha.

Thanks a lot for the tip on Wam. It's always hard to tell from a website what's current and who provides quality gear and service. I'll refer my local outfitter to the Wam site and see if he thinks best to order from there. He was doing some calling around to see what he could find. With a good reference to Wam there's a good chance that's where I'll end up.

You should join jeep Commander nation on Facebook and jeep commander fans. It's really helpful with vehicle specific stuff and some really good people with sick builds that's just wanna help. If I can't find any info online about a problem or issue I go there and someone always knows.
