Took me dreaming for over 4 years, but after the messy aftermath of a broken marriage it finally happened. I bought myself a Land Cruiser!

It is a 2007 120 series VX model with almost 150.000 KM on her (that’s about 93k miles)

Got heaps of plans for the rig, but as all my money sunk into the mortgage for the house and buying the Cruiser things will go slowly, yet I wanted to share the first pics with everybody because I’m stoked!

She came with the push bar and Hella lights, the windows where already tinted as well so those things I don’t have to change. Also a good set of BFG KO’s are mounted so that is another box ticked. Secured the spare tire on the rear door with 3 wheel locks so nobody steals my spare, so that is basically the first upgrade I guess.

Probably the first real big upgrade will be a 2 din head unit to replace the stock head unit so I can add Bluetooth and a reversing camera. While a 120 series isn’t huge it is certainly bigger then my Yaris was, and the Netherlands isn’t to kind to larger vehicles :p so I’m going to make it easy on myself and get a reversing camera as soon as I can afford one.

Sweet score! Question though, why 3 locks on the spare but none on the regular rims?

Because I don't see the regular rims being stolen that fast.. Good luck jacking the rig up with a standard car jack, doubt it will get it high enough with the wheel travel and all.
The spare tire is just secured with 3 nuts (instead of 6), and it is off the ground, so it is way easyer to get that one off.

Nice! Very capable rig from what I've seen. There was one on our trip to Morocco and it went very well. Looked comfortable too. Also saw there where a couple on the Carta Rallye out there earlier this year... not sure you want to drive the desert that fast in your new rig though!

Good point. What's next for her? Mods or a trip?

Mods I think, might do a trip in the summer holiday. Next like 6 weekends are fully booked, 2 concerts, 2 events @ work and a few birthdays comming up. Busy weekends..

Yea I've seen quite a few vids on YouTube as well, it is very well used in australia as well. That Landcrusier on your picture is a 90 series, this one (120 series) is the replacement for it :) and no, I won't go racing through the desert in it :P though I wouldn't mind going down Morocco somewhere in the future ;)

Cool, I'll keep an eye out for your build. I'd love to see some places you take her as well, since I know little about the Netherlands but what they show on tourist shows here.

Nice rig. First mod Id do is remove that approach angle ruining hunk of chrome hanging off the front.
Second would be to remove that departure angle ruining skirt hook off the back.

I'll pull the pushbar off when I need to.. no trips planned for now that will need that approach angle.. will remove the towball though.. not going to use that a lot anyway.

Took the rig out for a little drive tonight.. Long time since I actually went to drive just to unwind.

Also took my GoPro out, been a year since I last shot a vid with it. I even forgot how long the editing and rendering takes on my old 7 year old desktop.

Next upgrade that is officially on it's way now is the OB member badge =)

Cool! :D

Would love a 120 series LC, but they cost a fortune here in Norway :( so I'll have to wait a few more years..

They cost a fortune here as well Joey :). But I saved up for it, got a loan. and can manage the costs.. Got promoted a few times last 5 years that made it possible else it wouldn't be. (oh yea, and getting rid of my ex wife helped haha ;) )

We'll meet up some time so you can see it in person ;)

Currently on small little projects on the Cruiser.. Got rid of the ugly sticker that it had on the back, got rid of the dealer plate holder for the front licence plate and pained the back plate holder black. Just little cosmetic things. And did install some velco on the center console to get rid of some damage it has, it was bugging me :P
Got the Velcro today so decided to do that little project right away.. I think it looks better, but what do you think?

So first major update will be the radio.. The stock unit with 6 cd changer and tape unit will be replaced by a Kenwood DDX-9717BTS. Was deffo missing bluetooth and this new radio will have everything I would ever need.. Android auto so I can use google maps on the radio, bluetooth, CD and DVD player, and ofcourse it is still a FM radio :P

In 1.5 weeks it will get installed by a professional, not even going to try that myself :P

How do you like the Land Cruiser so far?
It is awesome :) Drives like a beast, because it is a beast :P Didn't regret selling my 1.5 year old car to get a 10 year old Cruiser.. Next month's I'm spending on tweaking the car (hence the new radio) and getting camping stuff together.. Next year I'll have to plan a few trips.

I am hoping to afford a trip to the Netherlands to visit one of my best friends who lives there next summer (I'm not allowed to work because of my back injury so saving money will take alot of time)

Will do, I'll be there as soon as I can afford it!

Just remember that when I get there, I want to see as many places and things as possible.
