Do you think a stock RAM 1500 4x4 would make it with no issues? I have no mods so far.
Expect cold weather at night. Did this trip in early November for 3 nights, could have used 4. Doing 20 to 30 miles a day seems a little short. Be sure to take a lot of side trails. You'll have to leave the preserve to gas up so plan on that.

If you have A/T tires and can air down you should be fine except for maybe Soda lake if its wet.Do you think a stock RAM 1500 4x4 would make it with no issues? I have no mods so far.

Our group is going next weekend. I Will let you know how the trail looks after all the rain we have had.Expect cold weather at night. Did this trip in early November for 3 nights, could have used 4. OK, I am in. Still checking if my wife can take off work for that time. We can get to AVI casino late Monday night and be ready to roll out Tuesday, December 24th morning at 10:00 am. Do you have a RTT or using a regular tent? We will plan on bringing our tent. We will head home at the end instead of back to Avi. I'll try to DM you with my contact info.

Pop for some recovery plates and a shovel, take your time and have fun!
When my son and I were there in the spring, we camped one night at
Caruthers Canyon. There is a hiking trail that leads way off into the New York Mountains. We went a ways along the creek. Really damned cool.View attachment 130487View attachment 130488
Thanks for the Info, Certanly looks like a Fun place to Camp.

I was not thinking of the water crossing.. I went around (my cold air intake would have shoveled up so much water), and would recommend a stock truck do the same. I was thinking more of the Soda Lake. When it gets wet, it's a deep sticky mud pit. There are other places where it could be tricky when it gets muddy.I have a Winch & Max Tracks Wannabe's, If it that wet we could also Back track to 15 and go around, Boring but safe,
