The members' meeting of the Sahara Club in Germany took place at the weekend. This is the annual meeting at which the chairman and gthe board of the association is elected etc. The big overlanding meetings of the club then take place in spring, summer and autumn. Some background information for those interested:
The beginnings of the Sahara Club is in the 80s. It all started in 1984. Numerous Sahara desert enthusiasts and globetrotters met. A club was founded. Of course with a connection to the Sahara. The first chairman of the first board was “Sahara” Willy Janssen, who is well known in the scene over here. While the club initially focused entirely on the Sahara desert, today the desert friends and globetrotters of the Sahara Club are at home on all continents. This year the club turns 40 years.
There will be another big meeting in Germany of the club in May where also non members are very welcome. @Oligetorix and I will be there. Fot those of you who are interested, there is a Rally Point:
