News about the future of our MidEurope Spring Meetup:
As you know, if we want to continue the meeting, we need to find a new location because the current one will unfortunately no longer be available in its current form next year. I have been looking around intensively over the last few months and have found something suitable very close to the old location. There we would have a large camping area (lawn) and a sports club building that we could use (sanitary facilities, kitchen, lecture room, etc.).
If we meet there, there would be a few changes. These are:
1. The participation fee per person will have to increase, as the location is significantly more expensive (it will be difficult to find another option as affordable as the one we had). Estimated at 50 euros per person for the weekend.
2. There will be a registration deadline by which members can register and pay the fee in advance – no refunds. Those who have done so are in. This is due, on the one hand, to the increased rental price for the location and, on the other hand, to the many, sometimes very last-minute and surprising cancellations or no-shows in the past. Ultimately, we want the meeting to take place for everyone who is looking forward to it and not have to be cancelled for financial reasons.
It's always been a great meetup in recent years and I am happy to organize this again and look forward to it. I'm aiming for a weekend in May again for the date, if the location is available then.
