First stage Trunk 3 peninsula of Paraguaná.

Every year we have a new motivation to continue touring the country, and in 2017 the western sector of Venezuela was selected for many reasons that led us to dedicate a lot of time to tours and photo and video sessions to a particular landscape of this region. from the north of Venezuela, which we call "Los Médanos".

Falcón, and Zulia are two states where the large sands known in our country as Médanos predominate among its landscape and in the whole world as Dunes and large semi desert areas with a warm climate and Xerófila vegetation where shrubs and cactus predominate. In our eagerness to travel every corner of Venezuela we started a journey that apparently is short but with many kilometers of roads between towns, beaches and emblematic places looking to get the most photos to be shared through our Instagram account @vistasdevenezuela and show more stories of a journalistic adventure through each published photo.

When we showed this project a group of companies supported us from the same day we spoke, forming part of this proposal compresses like @wixfilterve, @ automotor4x4store, @carpasanaconda @ ventuari4wd and @louisvanderviest each of them providing pieces and accessories that would facilitate our journey as filters of air, engine and gasoline, by Wix Filters, chairs and accessories for camping of the brand ARB by its representative Automotive 4x4 Store, we premiere the new model of Carp "Predator" by Anaconda, Bumper, rack roof and tray holder drums of Ventuari 4wd and the uniforms of Louis Vanderviest.

After weeks of reading on the maps about the places to visit, we found innumerable invitations to travel paths that would take us to some unknown scenarios, so the first detour that we took a few minutes before dawn was in the sector of Tocópero, after having traveled in the early morning between the Sectors of Tucacas, Yaracal and Mirimire.

To the surprise, a beautiful beach with only a group of fishermen who were also at their work from very early, where we were attracted by the particular beauty of these beaches and we took the coordinates to continue exploring this sector that welcomed us to the start of our project.

Further on in the trunk is an old sculpture of a Mastodon, where it indicates that we must take the dirt road to one of the most prehistoric places for the world. Just in that place a couple of researchers from Europe managed to find fossils of these animals that lived on earth so many years ago we can still find traces of their existence together with other extinct Jurassic animals.

There was time to marvel at us but also the warmth of that coastal area, adorned by cacti, tunas and cujíes, we did not invite to refresh ourselves in the car and continue advancing to the village of Vela de Coro, where the hero Francisco de Miranda raised The first time the tricolor flag and this place is marked for the history of the nation.

Certainly the history of the place forced us to visit this picturesque town, but in the investigations through the satellite map made us look for a place on the shore of the beach where there was a huge rock known as the Piedra San Martín, but being in the place we we realized that the erosion had done its job very well disappearing two thirds of the stone as we can calculate from some old photos found on the internet. This is what this research and exploration work is about, having the happiness of arriving at the places and discovering for yourself what the land has for each one of us, and in my case, registering it.

Even in Troncal No. 3 we travel again on paved road to the city of Coro, declared by Unesco Cultural Heritage of Humanity, for maintaining its streets and facades of the house completely preserved as if it were the same period of Spanish colonization. This city marks the end of the trunk and from here we started a long way inside the peninsula of Paraguaná, a place completely hot and with a hot sun as in nowhere but with an attractive hill that has always caught my attention in other trips.

This time I decided to camp at the foot of Santa Ana hill, and seeing the day's advance we wanted to arrive early to have enough time to locate the area where we would set up the camp with the intention of climbing this hill at dawn and being as close as possible to Start the walk.

The camping was really nice, with a cool climate and a constant breeze that invited us to stay in the tent after reviewing the material obtained during the day and a hot dinner.

At dawn, the first thing we saw was the top of the hill, which was covered with clouds completely disappearing the hill and we decided to wait an hour to start the trip if it cleared, meanwhile the breakfast did not wait, and the visit of the Parks guard and some people of the town helped us to make a new decision.

When the hill is so cloudy it is difficult to clear until late afternoon and in some cases it happens all day cloudy and this condition did not favor our work of photography and video, so we decided to continue our tour inside the peninsula visiting more places and roads and until arriving until our longed beach, the White Médano in the place more to the north of Venezuela and to leave for the following day the ascent to the Carro Santa Ana.

The whole peninsula is a visual spectacle, in it we find enormous salt flats with amazing colors in contrast to the clear sky, beautiful beaches, colorful villages and many people enjoying the beaches. When we arrived at Cabo San Román, we knew it since we began to see the huge lighthouse made of rock in the area, and landscape that is truly a paradise. Further ahead is this mound of white sand, which is why it is called Medano Blanco surrounded by cujíes and Cactus, plants capable of withstanding the aridity of this sector.

We stayed in this place for a long time enjoying each of the elements, seeing the direction of the wind and trying to analyze the reason for this sandy formation so isolated from other large mounds that are in the itzmo that gives the entrance to the peninsula and there is the Los Médanos de Coro National Park.

Walking the dunes at the edge of the car is exciting and fun, get the most out of the car on a completely variable floor, in some parts harder and others softer where we easily get stuck.

In broad daylight the fun becomes a bit harder as we recover the car working with the shovel and without another car that makes us work a little more to get it back but for this we are here, to have fun and enjoy these scenarios.

When the sun went down we already knew that we must return to our base camp for this trip, the foot of the Santa Ana car to be prepared and close. On the way back we can see it in the distance and we are relieved to have taken the best decision to travel the peninsula since you could still see the hill completely cloudy.

The second stage of this trip will be shared in a second installment where we will tell you about the beauties of this hill in the middle of the northern peninsula of Venezuela.
