Good afternoon all,
I'm looking for ideas to do a couple nights camping / trails here in Cali July 5th - 7th.
Wife and I are gonna do a shake down run of our setup, would love something in the mountains with the heat we have going during that time. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I will say I would have loved to head towards Big Sur but have been told road is still closed heading up from LA.

thanks Dave .

Hi Dave,

I'm pretty sure highway 1 is still closed south of Big Sur, but you could always go up 101 and head west on Nacimiento-Fergusson Road to get over to the coast. This would drop you right near Prewitt Ridge which is a popular camping spot.

How far are you looking to drive? There are also other options in the western Sierras near Sequoia National Park, the eastern Sierras near Mt. Whitney, and the Angeles National Forest.

Thanks , Ya i was talking with my neighbor today about maybe heading towards Kennedy meadows ? another spot we've never been to. really I figured maybe 4 hours out then find a spot. I would really like to hit up Prewitt Ridge also i'm glad you mentioned it.
