Anyone know of any campsites right on the lake in either Ohio or PA? Looking for a spot we can camp right on the water over the 4th of july. I have a RTT so a place I could pull my truck up to would be ideal. Just trying to find a good spot and thought I would ask you guys. Thanks

East Harbor State Park has a few spots near water. Even if those are gone, it's still a fun park because you can explore the beach area island.

During the day, drive over to the beach area. You can swim all the way out to those break walls. Big beach, walk down it west to the channel for the marinas. Tons of giant clams in there. Not good for eating, don't kill them.

Don't miss the campgrounds trail on the east side that goes from the middle camp area, along the lake, to the campgrounds boat launch.

You can ride bikes on the blackberry trail. It's too long and hot to walk. Don't wear clothes you don't want black berry stained.

Oh and beware the rangers by the beach. No floatation devices allowed. They're under the assumption that such an ignorant rule will keep the urban youth from swimming out too far and drowning. It doesn't, and it's always within three feet of the beach anyways.
