I was standing on the top rung of a dew slick ladder tightening gear straps when my boots slipped. I hit one of the rungs with my shin and knee (partially dislocating my knee) and then hit the ground. No pics of the injuries as I was really trying not to puke from the pain :-/
Battered and bruised this was my solution.

Tools needed Approx 200' of paracord or other cording of your choice and a day to devote to coxcombing aka spiral wrap. There are multiple online tutorials to guide you.

I hope this helps others!IMG_2177.JPG IMG_2235.JPG

Thanks for this post. Sorry about your injuries, but your story is now indelible on my mind. Once the rig gets a rack and ladder, grip tape shall not be long behind. You may have prevented my future injury with this cautionary tale.

I do like the look of your solution!
Happy trails

Something like that minus the paracord might be nice for the rungs on a RTT ladder because we know how much it sucks going up and down one of those in bare feet.

I tried grip tape but it's pretty much useless with muddy boots, no grip at all.. I grew up going bare foot so climbing this ladder kinda feels like climbing a tree. :-) Feels much better than the bare metal.

I also have bed liner on my sliders with the same bad results of slipping.

You could use deck plate from 18wheelers, or catwalk material used in industrial applicatons. That stuff chews up regular shoes faster though. Not to be confused with regular diamond plate.
