Hey fellow Southeasterners

My wife has a training she must do in Louisville area next July. Need to start planning and researching on what to do. I will have 7 days there

Little help and or advice. Maybe even on routes between there and Central Arkansas that I could hit on the way there or back also. Thanks in advance.

I live in Louisville, the nearest place to Offroad is about a hour east of the city. Land between the lakes/Turkey bay should be right in your way. I’ve heard good things about it but never have been there personally may even be a little under halfway depending on where you’re at in AK. It may be a nice place to camp for a night.

Ideas to do outside of off-roaring would be the Louisville Slugger factory tour and there are a few bourbon distilleries in Louisville. Church Hill Downs also has a really good tour. Horse racing and bourbon are musts when visiting KY!

Thanks for info! I’ve been to several distilleries around there before. Definitely a good time. Think I’m gonna have to explore the Red Rober Gorge area a little more while there. I’ve seen some amazing trails and places to go.

Hope to
It’s a little ways from Louisville but could be on the way from Arkansas , Land between the lakes is a great place to go. I lived in possum trot ky ( yeah really), About 15 years ago and it was an awesome place to wheel. Make sure to find patti’s restaurant and get the flower pot bread with the strawberry butter, everything else is great there also. There’s a drive you can do to see elk and bison that is pretty cool too. If you Mountain bike, there’s some nice trails to ride and bike shops that rent bikes if you don’t want to bring them. The fishing is fantastic on both lakes there too if you’re into that.

Another option is the Daniel Boone backcountry bi way. It's in Slade Ky, about 1-1.5 hrs to the south east of Louisville. Lots of fun trails, plus red river gorge, and the natural bridge are in the area.

Thank you. I have been to the Gorge before and have found several posts about the trails down there. I definitely will be visiting there. Probably spend a few days there.

We have a small group that is going to run the DBBB (weather permitting) the 3rd weekend in FEb . We were curious about any disperse Camping spots or “must stops” along the route . We have 3 rigs going , so it has to at least be a big enough bald or Turn about etc. to accommodate all 3.
