Does any one know if it is possible to hook up electronic brakes? its a 5x5 lug pattern? also it was a 2004 Grand Cherokee.

You will need to put in a trailer axle with electric brakes.
Simplest path is probably to order a bare trailer axle (no leaf spring perches) and weld in coil perches and control arm mounts.
Trailer axle hubs may not offer 5x5 lug pattern without running adapters, so you may need to calculate width with adapters in mind before you order your axle.
So, yes, it is possible. It is just a matter of more parts and labor. Probably more parts and labor than you want to throw at it though.
