I am planning a trip out west and hope to do some overlanding roughly during the week of May 10. I hope to start down near NM and end up in ID (I have to be there May 17). Since I am not familiar with the west, I am wondering how difficult it may be to access some of these areas due to residual snow. Knowing what areas that are generally inaccessible during that time would help me plan so that I make the most effective use of this small window. Any advice on areas that one would expect to be closed?

Nearly all the high elevation mountain passes in Colorado will still be closed.

It would be a pretty good time to visit UT Canyonlands as it won't be so hot yet.
