I have a little over a week off starting March 31 and looking to explore HWY 395 between the Mammoth and Tahoe areas. I do not believe there has been a lot of snowfall this season over there but do know at the higher elevations there will be. Looking to do some dispersed camping, driving, and relaxing. Would like to visit Bodie as well. Hoping to get some tips or suggestions on trails, camp spots, hot springs, other sites to see, etc. Any and all advice is appreciated.

There is , or was, all kinds of stuff in just about every canyon on the eastern slope of the Sierras. It’s been a very long time and I have no idea of the access any longer.

my dad and I used to explore all along Movie Rd. In the area everyone calls Alabama Hills now. Never used to be anyone out there.

for pure scenery, the June Lake Loop was pretty spectacular.

Awesome, thanks! Hoping the weather is decent enough and the trails not too snowed over

I used to love going up and down that highway. It’d take a week to cover the area you’re looking at. I’d do it once or twice a year with my dad, riding along while he was working. I took a lot of trout out of the streams and lakes.

Look here fo9r some ideas:

Davessierrafishing link takes you to a map with 395 divided up and selectable areas, once selected a map and more info for that area opens up.......

Sounds and looks like a trip I need to make going the other way.......
