It’s the same, when I go solo I do keep it a little spartan - When my better half comes I have a tent he can stand up in as my usual tent is a crawl inside one, I found a really good air mattress for him due to back issues and then he always brings about 100lbs of bags and gear for his just in cases… Love him adventuring with me and there is still room for the dog

I use to get those questions about the recovery gear I carry. Saw? Rope? Tackle? Then we did that solo trip across Gold Stone Pass.... Never got the question again.

Took about 16 years, but now all the staff we take for the 2 of us for a 3 week trip fits in a 80l backpack that I have since I was still in school :).
Little wins, take it slow, start with "you really need a full bottle of body lotion thing for a 2 nights trip" , "if you put so much cheese in the fridge, there will be no room left for the baileys...." and you will get there.. :)
